The president of the Cameroon football federation, FECAFOOT, prince Seidou Mbombo Njoya has met with the general manager of MTN Cameroon to discuss a possible return of the latter to the life of Cameroon football.
According to our sources, President Njoya met with Stephen Blewett this Friday, September 11,in Douala-Cameroon and discussions were fruitful though more is still to be done.
Italian firm Garman and South Africa’s MTN are previous sponsors of the championship.
The Cameroon Elite One and two championships have been without sponsors for the last two seasons, causing untold suffering on the path of the players, Clubs, Federation and above all the government obliged to pay ‘peanuts’ as salaries.
The Pan-African Sports News Agency understands the communication gaints are one of many companies the prince Mbombo Njoya-led FECAFOOT is in talks with for the same reason.
The Cameroon Elite Championships are expected to resume next month or so.
