PWD of Bamenda have defeated Yong Sports Academy of the same town by a goal to nil to walk away with all three points in the first ever regional clash between the both teams.
Coach David Pagou of PWD made four changes to the starting XI that list to UMS while Nkabyo Martin made one change to the team that defeated Feutcheu FC last Sunday.
It was PWD that had the first goal scoring chance of the match but goalkeeper Fuh Blaise Ndiforchu was up to the task.
Ahudu Lukong Fonyuy and Louiz Enjoinei Mbah will then see their attempts go off target.
YOSA on their part failed to trouble the PWD defense in the entire first half as Divine Ngi Mbeh and Boung Joel Ondoua were on the top of their game.
In the second half of the game, PWD began the better side as they troubled the YOSA defense. In the 49th minute of play, Ade Mienolf Chi converted a free kick that went pass goalkeeper Fuh Blaise to give PWD the lead.
YOSA would then bring in Tangiri Frankline, Ngong Neville and Mondi Kagawa but nothing seemed to go their way. Their one rare opportunity went the way of Tongua Armel Emmanuel Regis but his shot didn’t trouble goalkeeper Rodrigue Zame who made his debut for the Abakwa Boys.
PWD travels to Garoua on match day 6 to take on Coton Sport while YOSA stays at home to confront UMS of Loum.
