Renaissance of Ngoumou has beaten AS FAP 4#3, in a thrilling league two playoff game, at the yaounde Annex 1 Stadium. Renaissance came to game as second favorites, but needed just 17 minutes to announced their intentions,when Roger Claude Ngono capitalized on an error from FAP’s goalkeeper Christian Aristide Mbebe and slotted the ball to the back of an empty net. Three minutes later, Freddy Lionel Atemengue doubled Renaissance lead, with a good left footed strike. FAP had to wait till the 37 minute of the game, when Frederick Etoum Bang pounce on a loose ball, and powered it home, for his 10 goal of the season.
The five goal thrilling first half, saw Eugene Vital Onana adding Renaissance third goal at the 39 minutes, but Christian Onguene replied almost immediately for FAP, with a 42nd minute goal, after Renaissance failed to deal with a set piece.
Herve Eloundou gave some hopes to FAP, when he converted a penalty at the 60th minute, to put the game on a parity. Renaissance then stepped up their game, with several onslaughts, which eventually won them a penalty at the 64th, which was converted by Cedric Christophe Nang to put the scores at 4#3 for Renaissance, a score which Renaissance protected till then end.
Renaissance therefore joins Leopard and Panthere in the driving seat, in the race to finish champions in the league two championship and get one of the available spots for the league one next season.
