OFTA of Kribi picked up her first away win in this year’s League 2 campaign against AS Matelots.

Despite a tight opener, OFTA finally found something when Elkass Palmeli’s free kick was scrambled in by Emmanuel Ewodo at the 17th minute of play.

Elkass was making a nuisance of himself down the right flank and nearly doubled the tally for the Ocean boys at the 22nd minute with a long range strike that was palmed out by goalkeeper Rigobert Amougo.

At the 35th minute, OFTA doubled their money with an inspirational run from Geremi Yaya that found Isaac Madola whose extra touch sets him up for a volley into the net.

At the 45th minute of play OFTA almost added another but Elkass Palmeli’s lay off was fired wide by Junior Baobe.

Matelots started the second segment on a high but the game management from OFTA was top notch.

Captain Steve Fokoua of Matelots struck through the ball from a free kick at the 65th minute but goalkeeper Limaleba Vladimir did enough to make it stick.

8 minutes to the end of the game Matelots halved the deficit through a Mozart Gwet header from a Franky Ndongo free kick.

The late resurgence from Matelots counted for nothing as OFTA held on for the vital three points

This is now two wins in the last two for a revamped OFTA who move temporarily to the top of the log with 17 points while AS Matelots are stuck with 12 points
