Match day 15 action of the Cameroon league one championship was just another opportunity for a contingent of foreign players plying their trade in the Cameroon top tier, to show their fans just why their clubs crossed boarders for their services. Four of the 14 goals produced in eight day 15 games, were scored by players of foreign nationality. However, other non-Cameroonian clubs helped their clubs in one way or the other.
The veteran forward and cotonsports all time top scorer, was on target twice against New stars in Garoua, to go top of the goal scoring chart in the league this season. He has now scored nine times for the defending champions, with seven of his nine goals, scored at home in Garoua. Cotonsport ran out 5#1 winner in that encounter, with Daoudas brace making him the teams top scorer in all competitions this season with 14goals.
Arnaud Sanou Sibiri-Burkina Faso
21 year old Burkinabe international, Arnaud Sanou Sibiri was part of the cotonsport side that ran riots against New stars on match day 15. Making just his 13 league appearance for the cotonites since joining the club in January from Burkina Fasos ASF Bobodiolaso, he grabbed a brace, to take his goal tally to three goals this season. His brace came exactly one week after he had opened his scoring account, in their 4#1 win over Colombe. He has had a hand in five of cotonsports 25 goals this season. (3 goals and 2 assists).
The 23 year old Congolese International was in the New Stars team that was hammered 5#1 in Garoua. He came in as a second half substitute, but could not help matters for his side.
Chad- 3 players
Three Chadian nationals took part in match day 15 action, representing two different clubs.
Yong sport Academy of Bamenda had at goal Chadian shot stopper, serge Diguel, in their 2#1 defeat to Feutcheu FC of Bandjoun. He conceded two times in the game, but pulled some stunning saves to prevent more damage for his side. The goalkeeper failed to keep his eight clean sheet of the season. He has played 13 games for YOSA, keeping 7 clean sheets.
The former Aigle of the Menouas holding midfielder, now in the books of YOSA, start in a midfield 3 for YOSA, alongside Bouba Yindui and Ngong Neville. All his works at the midfield were in vain, as YOSA collapsed in the second half to an aggressive Feutcheu, despite taking a 1#0 lead for the break.
Ndounban Sylvain played his 11th game of the season for Colombe, but could not prevent his side from falling 0#1 to Apejes at the yaounde Omnisport stadium. His side is now rock bottom in pool A of the championship.
21 year old Brazilian forward Alef Firmino was an unused substitute for Union sportive of Douala, in their zero all draw at the yaounde military stadium against Dragon of yaounde. He has made just two appearances for the Nassara Gamakia this season.
Match day 16 will certainly be another occasion for the foreign players to grab headlines either for good or bad reasons.
