Arnaud Sibiri

Over the years, the Cameroon first and second tier championships have hosted and nortured some of the best of talents from around Africa and the rest of the world.

Since the TKC days of the great Koffi Abbrey,Salla Mensah,George Weah, till date Foreign players have always been very important contributors to the growth of the League.

Presently Cotonsport’s all time top scorer Kamilou Daouda is a full Niger International and captain of Cotonsport of Garoua.

Niger-Kamilou Daouda(Cotonsport)

Kamilou started and led his mates against USD last weekend in Limbe,he was spectacular at his age and made efforts with two shots on target but unfortunately for him and his mates USD had more than Cotonsport  in the game and got all 3 points after a 1 nil win. Kamilou was cautioned late in the game for arguing with the referee.

kamilou Daouda

Kamilou is on 6 of Cotonsport’s 13 goals that’s 46.15 percent of his club’s goals of his club’s goals, only Kongyuy Jude with 60% of PWD’s goals has a better ratio in the league

Kamilou has scored goals against 4 opponents (Avion,PWD,TKC & Dragon) and won 10 points for Cotonsport with his goals involved.
The only Point Cotonsport have picked up without Kamilou’s goal was away to Colombe.

So of the 11 points Cotonsport have his goals won 10 points=90.9% of the points. In all he has 10 goals for Cotonsport this season.

Togo-Serge Seko (Cotonsport)

Serge Seko

Serge Serko made his 12th appearance of the season for Cotonsport of Garoua since switching from USD to the Cotonites in December.
Unfortunately for him it wasn’t a happy return to Limbe against his former club. Seko and Cotonsport suffered a defeat and he was strechered off and referee Mbelle Mbelle Justus didn’t hesitate to show him a red card on the strecher following his foul on captain Nlend Samuel of USD. He has already opened his goal account for Cotonsport with a goal against TKC in round 3 of the championship.

Togo-Bassa Djeri (Cotonsport)

Bassa DJeri

The shot stopper was between the sticks for 13th consecutive game this season and made meaningful interventions in an afternoon were he was not really tested. Djeri made 1 save against USD,he has so far been one the standout performers for Cotonsport this season.
Djeri is a fan favorite for the Cotonites but unfortunately he was beaten once Against USD. He has kept 3 clean sheets in 7 league games this season and his form is the reason why Cotonsport is amongst the 3 best teams in terms of goals conceded this season.
Djeri is in Claude Leroi’s Togo squad to face Benin in their round 6 2019 AFCON Qualifiers in Cotonou later this month.

James Olufade is another Togelese who could have featured in this game but unfortunately the Union Sportive Douala defender is just returning from an injury.

Chad-Romeo Otodjibaye(YOSA)

After a great start to life in Bamenda, the former Aigle Royal man has been a regular starter for YOSA since joining them in the build up to this season. Playing in the holding Midfield role,he was named the man of the match in YOSA’s opening league game this season but on Sunday his coach opted to leave him on the bench against Astres of Douala.

He was introduced in the second segment as YOSA tried to get the better of the midfield but in the end his club return to Bamenda with a point as the game ended 1 all.

Chad-Serge Diguel (YOSA)

The former Unisport of Bafang Goalkeeper made his 7th start of the season with hopes to get his 4th clean sheet of the season but it wasn’t to be as he conceded a late Jose Sandjo penalty goal as his club,YOSA shared the spoils with Astres.

Chad-Ndoumban Sylvain-Colombe

The center back partnered Djob Lidjoh at the back for Colombe Dja they kept a clean sheet and beat Avion Nkam 1 nil in Limbe.

Colombe Dja faithful described his performance as the best of the season.

Burkina Faso-Arnaud Sibiri (Cotonsport)

The 20 year old Burkinabe forward was trusted again by Coach Ebwelle Bertin for the 3rd consecutive game in Limbe.

Arnaud Sibiri

Arnaud had 5 successful take-ons,4 crosses,2 shots off target and a short on target over the 90 minutes.

Sibiri is still looking for his first goal for Cotonsport of Garoua since switching from Bobodiolaso in Burkina Faso.

So far Kamilou Daouda of has been the best performing player in the league and the best foreign player too.

Cyrille Koukiyimina of New Stars didn’t feature in this round of matches because his club was on standby.
The young lad has been called up to under 23 team of Congo.
