Union Sportive of Douala suffered a second home defeat in two home league games in a 1-3 loss to Bamboutos of Mbouda.

Goals from midfielder Mark O’ojong Nkongho and Bayem Jacques for Bamboutos FC did the job for the boys of coach Djam.

Union looked to start the game on the front foot, they had a penalty shout at the second minute when captain Rostand Moukap of Bamboutos was judged to have handled Serge Andoulou’s cross, but referee Effa Essouma Max Antoine gave a blind eye.

Bamboutos however took a one goal lead into the break.

Achilles Fokem Namekong’s ambitious cross at the 12th minute was bravely defended by Unions Fondoh Che Malone resulting to a corner.

Aristide Medjo looked to have played in a poor corner but the Union defense was caught napping and Jacques Bayem dived in with a header that beat goalkeeper Philemon Ghislain Mendouga to give Bamboutos the lead at the 14th minute.

They could have made it two at the 42nd minute, Pange Lobe’s cross from the left was poorly dealt with by Mendouga leading to another cross from the right from Jacques Bayem but Namekong inexplicably headed over the cross bar from close range.

Just like in the first half, Union began the second half looking more threatening.

Ghislain Tony Ayissi set up a fine ball for Pierre Francis Baliang but his shot went off target.

Bamboutos had the best chances of the game and they capitalized to add their advantage at 64th minute.

Midfielder Mark Ojong connected perfectly to head home a precise in-swinger from left back Jeff Ngongang to give Bamboutos a two-goal cushion at the 64th minute.

The Mangwa Boys put the game out of the reach of coach Daniel Walinjom’s men with a third, four minutes later.

A long ball from midfielder Aristide Medjo was calmly brought down with the chest by Mark Ojong who rounded both central defender Stephane Ougene and goalkeeper Mendouga of Union to calmly score for Bamboutos to the ecstasy of their ever present numerous supporters.

Union looked to try a fight back when their lone goal scorer so far this season Samuel Nlend scored his and Union’s third goal of the season at the 80th, beating Narcisse Junior Nlend who had a quiet game till then.

The dismissal of substitute Herve Boumsong for a villain tackle on Frankline Anjeh did nothing to help Union as coach Djam Laurent’s men held on to second win of the season in three games.
