The classic between Canon Sportive of Yaounde and Tonnerre Kalara club of Yaounde on Thursday 7th ended on a goalless scoreline.

Newly appointed coach Sylvanos Clerc of TKC came in with a very much changed side, with Gregoire Nkama taking over the armband from Steve Mimche in his TKC side.

In the first minute there’s a first shot for Jesus Eto’o Biang of Canon who forces a save from debut making goal keeper Che Felix of Tonnerre.

At the 10th minute TKC had a chance of their own courtesy of Sadjo’s free kick from the left but Onyebor Ugoe’s header goes wide.

Two minutes after, Canon’s premier goal poacher Kevin Assiga balloons his free kick up and over Che Felix’ goal.

Tonnerre’s last year’s highest goal scorer Gregoire Nkama seems an isolated man upfront in the opening 20 minutes and cannot find any scraps to feed on.

The stoppages are made more frequent half an hour into the game and referee Mbele Mbele’s job is made increasingly difficult.

Captain Axel Ndzana gallops upfront and strikes the ball that looked simple on the eye, but it almost bamboozles Che Felix at the 45th minute.

Canon had the set peices coming their way in the second half and at the 50th minute, Julien Patrice missed a good chance.

At the 75th minute Ngede Ngede Junior sees room for a shot and goes for it but his effort is world wide.

The last quarter of an hour is action packed but none of the two clubs are able to raise the curtain.

The two teams shake hands and part ways with a point each; TKC moves up to three points but stay rock bottom while Canon are up to five points.
