Cotonsport of Garoua’s young defender Boubakary II Sali, may just to 19, but he has done enough to cause pundits to tip him as the next great piece from the wonderful Cotonsport production line.
Born in Garoua on 22nd September 1999,the young right back has grown in the game of football and is now a young man leaving his dreams with exciting performances for boyhood club Cotonsport.

A product of the current Champions and title contenders Cotonsport of Garoua, Sali got promoted to the first team last season,after representing the club at all youth categories for the club.
His introduction is into the first team came with the touch of success.Sali got to the first team when the club had not won a trophy in two years, pathetic by the club’s Standards. In his first season in the first team,he helped Cotonsport of Garoua win their first league title in 3 seasons.

The title Winning campaign wasn’t all that easy for the versatile defender, he had to shuffle between the Under 20 National team of Cameroon and club duty as he was a key player in Cameroon’s qualifier campaign for the 2019 Under 20 AFCON.

At the end of it all, he featured 17 times in all competitions for Cotonsport in his debut League 1 campaign and at end, they won Cotonsport’s 15th domestic league title.
The defender didn’t slow down as the subsequent season he was in the match day squad for all six Continental club competitions for Cotonsport in the current season and in all has made 14 appearances this season.
Salli and his Cotonsport side have a moment of truth this weekend when they face 2016 champions of Cameroon,UMS Loum knowing that, only a win can help them retain their title.
Should Cotonsport win the title,then Sali will be one of the youngest boys in the Ndoumbe Bosso led Cotonsport of Garoua who will be going home with a winners medal.
The medal will be his second before he turns 20 in September.
Cotonsport and Sali II will equally be eyeing the 2019 Cup of Cameroon but the young lad who has already played for Cameroon and the current most successful club in Cameroon will want to harvest the league title first this Sunday in Yaounde.
