UMS of Loum have set a new elite one record this season scoring 5 of their goals form penalty kicks. The club has not lost any of their 9 previous encounters In which they’ve found the net from a penalty kick.
Union Movement Sportive of Loum have continued their record of penalties earned and converted this season with a great deal of their goals coming from the spot kick.
This has catapulted the club to the top of their group 10 matches into the championship.
A penalty kick from Raymond Fotso enabled the current group A leaders picked up their first league win against AS Fortuna for the first time ending Fortuna’s dominance over them. UMS beat Fortuna 1-0 during match day 10,to enable them maintain their lead in the group.
Five of the goals 2016 League winners have scored this season have all come from converted penalty kick.
They have scored 2 penalty kicks against Stade Renard of Melong, and one each against Fovu of Baham,rivals AS Fortuna and against Feutcheu FC of Banjoun.
Willy Nnameji has successfully converted 3 penalty kicks for UMS and Raymond Fotso has scored two .
The constant occurence of these spot kicks have now become a threat to elite one clubs especially as the club capitalizes on them for victory.
Interestingly ,UMS of Loum have never lost a match In which they have scored a penalty. Infact, four of their last matches have all ended in victories for them.
Their recent performance in the league has earned them them the first spot of group A with 15 points. They are closely followed by second placed Astres of Douala.
However, the 2015 Cup of Cameroon winners stand stiff competition from Yong Sport Academy of Bamenda that stands a chance to level points if they pull a win In Bamenda during a delay match day 10 game against Eding Sport of the Lekie.
