The clash pitting Avion of Nkam to Cotonsport of Garoua on Monday in Garoua is going to be a clash of the League 1 winners in 2018 Cotonsport and the League Two winners in Avion Nkam.
This game is going to be the first for the Cotonites since after they parted company with head coach Ebwelle Bertin on Wednesday this week.
Cotonsport are certainly favourites in this one though Avion Nkam have already shown their love for big games this season by taking points off Cotonsport,USD,TKC,PWD and New Stars.
Avion Nkam will be going to Garoua for the first time in the club’s short history but their host are well known in Cameroon and to an extend continental football. Cotonsport are the title holders and have won the league on 15 occasions while Avion only graduated into this championship at the end of last season.
Cotonsport of Garoua suffered a defeat and took a point in their last two games while Avion of Nkam suffered 1 defeat and a draw in the last two. Cotonsport of Garoua are in frightening form in Garoua, they have won all home games this season with a remarkable record number of 11 goals at their base. Avion don’t panic on the road, they have come from behind to beat struggling TKC this season.
Cotonsport 2nd in Pool A with 12 points can boast of 3 wins in 8 games this season with 3 draws and 2 defeats in the other games while Avion Nkam on the 6th Spot have picked up 10 points after 2 wins and 4 draws in 8 games. This one may just be a high scoring one as Cotonsport is the league’s best club in front of goal with 14 goals scored and just 5 conceded while have scored and conceded 10 goals.
Both Clubs have met just once in League One and in that lone meeting early this season,Cotonsport took the lead but had to come from behind to pick a point in a game that ended 2 all..
Players To Watch.
Obviously league one top scorer with,Kamilou Daouda is going to be Coton’s main man in this one as he looks to end his 2 games goal drought and keep his run of scoring in all games in Garoua this season. Aime Mangolo of Cotonsport is also going to be another man to focus on given that he is a former player of Avion Nkam and has netted twice in Garoua. Aime Mounet and Mfegue George will represent Avion’s best threats upfront.
This is certainly a big game in the making.
