Cotonsport’s main man in the 2019 football season, Kamilou Daouda has edged Ekollo Malolo of Dragon Yaounde by a goal to win the 2019 Cameroon League 1 topscorers trophy.
It is the fourth time Kamilou is claiming the award and the first time since 2017.
The veteran forward scored 11 goals in 18 League games this season to helping Cotonsport to claim precious points in top games this season.
Born in Niamey-Niger 31 years ago, the all-round striker moved to Cotonsport in 2007 from Niger side Akokana. Despite short spells in North Africa,he has made Garoua his best ever work place netting 171 goals in 9 full seasons at the the club.
Despite matching his last season tally of 11 league goals, Kamilou has faced a dropped in output, Compared to the 2018 season with 18 goals.
Kamilou has netted 17 times in all competitions this term. He can boast of being the only player to have reached double figures in the last 3 seasons in the league; 19 goals in 2017,11 in 2018 and 11 in 2019.
Kamilou Daouda takes away the coveted trophy for the 4th time in his stay in Cameroon. He has not only cemented his place in the hearts of Cotonsport fans but in the hearts of the fans of Cameroon League one followers.
Kamilou’s goals couldn’t has helped the Garoua giants to land their 16th League title meaning should Cotonsport aspire to go Continental they must win the 2019 Cup of Cameroon.
