Indomitable Lions of Cameroon forward Nicolas Moumie Ngamaleu started and scored in this Tuesday’s match-day one fixture of the 2021-2022 UEFA Champions League as his side Young Boys fought-back to pick up a precious win at home to Cristiano Ronaldo’s 10-man Manchester United FC.
The English visitors raced into a one-nil lead barely 13 minutes into the game thanks to their Portuguese great.
Despite United taking the early lead Young Boys looked the real deal constantly causing difficulties for the host via some admirable counter-attacking football.
The game completely changed to the favor of the host in the 35th minute when Aaron Wan Bissaka was sent off for a reckless tackle.
United somehow took the lead to the break but upon their return for the second segment, and with the introduction of Bali-native and US International Theo Jordan Siebatcheu the host became better.
Young Boys finally had the reward for their efforts in the 66th minute when Ngamaleu leveled off an assist from Hefti.
Ngamaleu’s goal was the first in the competition for the former Cotonsport forward.
Siebatcheu scored what turned out to be the winner at the 95th as the boys from Albi held on to register a historic result.
While waiting for the result of the other group game between Villarreal and Atalanta, Young Boys top their group ahead of their match-day two game against Atalanta Bergamo.
Jean Pierre Nsame is also of Young Boys Bern.
