Bad news for fans of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon and Stade Brestois in the French top flight.
24 year old Cameroon centre-back Jean-Charles Castelletto might see his bright start to the new French Ligue 1 season, for newly promoted Brest blighted by an ankle injury.
Castelletto could not continue training today after an ankle injury, according to Le Télégramme. Details on the extent of the injury will be known tomorrow after further medical examination.
Brest have some comforting news from their infirmary, Gaetan Belaud another potential Indomitable Lion Hianga’a Mananga Mbock returned to training yesterday after long layoffs due to injuries.
Castelletto was an ever present in the Brest back line last season in the French Ligue 2 and helped them return to the French top flight.
He came through the ranks of Auxerre, then moved to Club Brugge in Belgium. Loan spells to Royal Excel Mouscron and Red Stars followed before a permanent move to Brest in 2017.

He was born in France to an Italian father and a Cameroonian mother. He switched his allegiance to the Indomitable Lion in 2018 after playing for the French youth teams from the U-16 to the U-20 levels.
He has however not impressed yet with Cameroon despite his immense qualities.
