Cinyodev F.A crashed out of the Cameroon cup after a 1-2 loss to Panthere of Nde in a mouth watering round of 32 Cameroon cup game that took place in Edea on Wednesday, May 15, 2019.
Center-half, Fon Calvin told kick442.com-“I felt we were cheated. A Panthere player deliberately used his hands and tried to score, but the referee
did not issue a yellow card”.
The youngster went on: “I saw a man in uniform talking to the linesman. The penalty the referee gave in favour of our opponents was a complete dive, it killed our moral and even after Cyrille Patrick halved the deficit-there was no time for a comeback”.
This defeat to CINYODEV was only their second after they lost to ISOHSA in the league and Fon Calvin has been a solid part to that run alongside center back partner and captain, Brandon Ntui. The defensive pair pair have conceded just 5 goals in all competition’s, rather unfortunate that the strikers take all the praise.
Most football lovers in the region thought CINYODEV had the best chance of going through to the next round of the Cameroon cup, or repeating the heroics of Victoria united-some even had strong arguments that the young side could go all the way-unfortunately it had to end against League 2 side Panthere.
The other game saw EEMSA dismantled by Leopard FC of Douala 1-4 with a spirited come back from an experience Leopard side. The last throw of the dice are Best stars who take on Renaissance on Thursday the 16th in Edea.
