PWD social club of Bamenda has beaten Far North regional side,Kohi FC of Maroua 5#1, to progress to the round of 16 of the Cameroon cup. The encounter played at the Bertoua Municipal stadium this Wednesday May 22, 2019, was one of round 32 games of the Cameroon cup, taking place across the national territory.
PWD led 3#0 at half time, thanks to goals from Enoh Loiuz, who opened scores from the penalty spot, before a goal from Ita Donarosario made it two nil for the Abakwa boys. PWD will retire into the changing room at half time with a 3 nil lead thanks to a third goal from Lukong Ahudu.
When play resumed for the second half, Kohi pulled one back, but further goals from Ita Donarosario and Fai Gilead (his first goal for PWD), handed the ABAKWA Boys a 5#1win, and a place in the round of 16.
PWD was eliminated in the round of 16 last year by Federal of Noun, after recording a 3#0 win over Racing of Bafoussam in the round of 32. The ABAKWA boys are now determined to go pass that level, as the race for who succeeds Eding sports narrow down.
The ABAKWA Boys who are also taking part in the relegation playoffs in the league one championship currently ongoing in Limbe, made the trip to Bertoua with just 12 outfield players, two goalkeepers, coach Augustine Tchoupo and the team Doctor. The coach handed the opportunity to players who have limited playing time this season, while most players who took part in their last Playoff game against Unisport, stayed back in Limbe, as they continue preparations for Sunday’s showdown with FOVU of Baham.
