Best Stars of Limbe had to hit the woodwork on 8 occasions during the preliminary found of the cup of Cameroon in the South West Region against Ajax of Likomba at the Molyko Omnisport Stadium during their well deserving 3-1 victory today.
Clinton Agbor came from the bench during the second half and scored twice for Best Stars during their win.
The Limbe based outfit got their first chance in the first minute of play when Lyonga Jonas dribbled past Ajax’s defence to set -up Ferdinand Nyuki whose unfortunate well-taken strike hit the woodwork.
Mafany Metutu Alain of Best Stars almost opened scores minutes later but Ajax Likomba was yet again saved by their woodwork.
Lyonga Jonas’ pace was a real threat to Ajax . On several occasions,the Best Star sensational was at the center of most their attacks which were rather futile.
Ajax of Likomba tried to react on several occasions with their best attempt being the disallowed goal from Dieudonné Billah due to an offside position.
The second half was much more electrifying than the first.
7 minutes from coming on,Clinton Agbor Takang ended the dealock and scored the first goal of the encounter at the 51st minute.
Ajax Likomba’s second half substitute Abang Besong leveled scores with his superb 77 minute volley to give his side hopes.
The situation grew worse for Best Stars as Otia Nestor was sent off with a red card.
Despite the numerical disadvantage,Best Stars were still able to create multiple chances with their captian Leonard Kisun Ngwa scoring his first goal since the mini-interpool at the 86th minute to increase tally for his team with Clinton Agbor making it 3-1 at the 89th minute.
Speaking to Kick442, the captain of Best Stars Leonard Kisun Ngwa said he was happy scoring today and appreciated the efforts of his team mates.
“It was a difficult game. Although we were ten men down we were able to keep them at Bay and go forward. We are happy for the result. We showed them we weren’t an easy side to play with” Best Stars Captian disclosed.
Best Stars have always had troubles with Ajax of Likomba and today’s encounter presented a arena to settle old scores.
