The pairings of the 2019/2020 CAF Confederation and Champions League have been made public this Sunday.
Champions of Cameroon UMS of Loum and 2019 Cup of Cameroon winners have been paired against Congolese giants AS Vita while Cup of Cameroon winners Stade Renard of Melong will face DC Motemba Pemba in the first preliminaries round of the 2019 CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup respectively.
UMS in their 3rd appearance in the Champions League have an uphill task against the1973 winners of the CAF Champions Cup and 2018 CAF Confederation Cup runners up.
AS Vita in their 7th champions League appearance will first travel to Cameroon on the weekend of 9th,10 and 11th of August. The return game will take place in Kinshasa on the weekend of 23rd,24th and 25th of August.
Under coach Florent Ibenge, the boys of President Gabriel Kumba winners of the Linafoot on 14 occasions and 7 times Congolese Cup winners are a serious opponents for the boys of coach Laurent Djam.
It is the second time in four CAF competition appearances that UMS is traveling to Congo.
In the CAF Confederation Cup, Stade Renard in their debut campaign of will face DC Motema Pembe in the first leg away from home on the the weekend of 9th-11 August and in the return leg 2 weeks later they will entertain the Congolese giants.
DC Motema is 12 times Champions of Congo, they have won the DRC Cup on 13 times and are winners of the 1994 CAF Cup winners Cup.
