Cameroon women’s league Champions, Awa FC has released its squad for the upcoming qualifying tournament in Malabo commencing September 10.
The Hassan Balla tutored side released an 18-woman squad of two goalkeepers, seven defenders, four midfielders, and five forwards.
The team will open its campaign against TP Mazembe of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in the First Round of UNIFFAC (Central Africa) Zonal Qualifiers for the 2022 TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League.
The winner of the game will face the winner of the game between CECUS FC of Chad and AC Colombe of Congo in the Second Round.
Holders, Malabo Kings have already qualified for the Second Round awaiting the best loser from the First Round.
UNIFFAC Champions will join ASFAR FC (Morocco), Wadi Degla (Egypt), Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies (South Africa), Green Buffaloes (Zambia), Bayelsa Queens (Nigeria), Determine Girls (Liberia), and Simba Queens (Tanzania) in the second edition of TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League in Morocco.
The draw for the tournament will take place on Friday, September 9, 2022, ahead of the tournament slated for October 30 to November 13, 2022.
