Mauritanian giants FC Nouadhibou are in a tight corner going into their CAF Confederation Cup game against Cotonsport of Garoua.
At least ten of the club’s regular starters including captain Houmey Tanji are unavailable for this Sunday’s first-leg third round CAF Confederation cup Preliminaries game against Cotonsport of Garoua, at the Stade Olympique de Nouakchott.
According to information on the desk of the kick442.com team, the Club’s first choice goalkeeper Babacar Diop, defenders Oumar Mangane and Mahameden Bebou are away with the national team. The same can be said for midfielders Moussine Bodda and Mohamed Soueid.
Forwards Moulaye Ahmed Khalil and Hameya Tanjy who doubles as the club captain are also away with the Morabitons of Mauritania as they prepare for the Arab cup.
They are accompanied on the list of absentees by right-back Sidi Ahmed Rashid and midfielder Boune Mohamed plus a suspension for Togolese defender Ama Tchotchaui is another of the major game players.
According to our sources, the club had reached out to CAF to plead for the game to be rescheduled but they were given a negative feedback.

Marou Souaibou of Cotonsport and mates have been in Mauritania since Thursday.
The game kicks off at 5pm Cameroon time and it will be the first ever meeting of both historic Clubs.
