Defending champions of the CAF Confederation cup Renaissance Sportif Berkane have touched down Cameroonian soils for their 2020-2021 CAF Confederation cup group stage clash against 2013 unfortunate semi-finalist Cotonsport of Garoua.
The Moroccans came into Cameroon via the Garoua International Airport on Monday evening to continue preparations for the match-day two fixture schedule for Wednesday, March 16 at the Roumde Adja Stadium.
It is going to be the first meeting of both institutions and Berkane come into the 2pm game in full confidence having won their opening group game against Naspa FC who will host JS Kabylie of Algeria in Zambia for Matchday two.
It is Cotonsport’s first interclub competition’s group stage game since 2017. This highlights the magnitude of the game unfortunately to be played without the Cotonsport diehards because of the threats of spreading the Corona Virus through the gathering of a crowd.
Ahead of the game, Cotonsport picked up a comfortable two-nil win against YOSA in a domestic league game on Saturday in Garoua.
Cameroonians full attention of turns to Garoua and on Cotonsport on Wednesday during the 2pm game.
Cotonsport will be without Goni Ali and Ngombe Etame who are both suspended for disciplinary reasons while Kamilou Daouda continues recovery from a major surgery.
However, the Cotonites welcome intermediate skipper Banga Bidjeme who returns from suspension to likely pair with Herve Ngomo at the central defense.
