Raja Casablanca has made it three group wins in the African Confederations Cup after defeating Egypt by two goals to zero on Sunday April 4th, 2021.
Only the Moroccans boast of the 100 percent record amongst the 16 clubs already halfway through the group stage of Africa’s second tier club championship.
Goalkeeper Sherif Ekramy of Egypt’s mistake at the fifteenth minute of play led to Raja Casablanca’s opening goal.
Ben Malongo, a Democratic Republic of Congo- born was able to score in the twenty first minute, to make it two goals for his side Raja and zero for opponents, Egypt in their Group D game.
Same Group D includes Nkana of Zambia who recovered from ending a 64 match unbeaten home record in African club competitions by edging Namungo 1-0 in March.
Elsewhere, Group B is intriguing with Coton Sports of Garoua at the top after 1-0 win over NAPSA Stars of Zambia and JS Kabylie of Algeria are second place with two points away from Coton Sports though held to a 0-0 draw at Renaissance Berkane of Morocco.
Group C remains right at the group stage with only two points seperating leaders CS Sfaxien of Tunisia from Salitas of Burkina Faso who are at the bottom.
An impressive performance from Anayo Iwuala helped Eyimba FC of Nigeria beat Entente Setif of Algeria 2-1 in Group A are leading the chart in that Group with six points.
This victory for last year’s Champions League semi finalists, Raja Casablanca who has won three CAF Champions League, one Confederation Cup, one CAF Cup amongst other trophies to add to their credits keeps them top of Group D with Nine points.
