Cotonsport of Garoua have their complete central defensive options for Wednesday’s CAF Confederation cup group game against RS Berkane.
Intermediate Indomitable Lions of Cameroon center-half Pierre François Aurelien Etame Ngombe Matanda has returned to the Cotonsport of Garoua first team squad going into Wednesday’s CAF Confederation cup group stage game against RS Berkane.
The 27-year old former Eding Sport de la Lekie and Njalla Quan Sports Academy defender has missed the past four games in all competitions amidst contrasting reports about his health situation.
The return of Etame coincides with the return of his defensive partner Solomon Banga Bidjeme who missed the 2-1 defeat against JS Kabylie last Wednesday in Garoua due to suspension.
The Club travels with international quartet Banga, Etame, Herve Ngomo and Goni Ali.
Cotonsport leaves Cameroon this Tuesday evening with a squad of 22 players for the clash against outgoing champions RS Berkane in a 10pm kick-off in Berkane on Wednesday, April 28.
Cotonsport with nine points just like JS Kabylie are already through to the quarter-final of the competition but have top spot to play for.
Felix Oukine and co jet-off tonight via a chartered flight and have the onus to win against their host and hope JS Kabylie doesn’t match their results at home to NAPSA to secure top spot in group B.
Visiting Cotonsport picked up a 2-0 win in the reversed fixture in March but suffered a 2-1 defeat in their last outing last Wednesday against JS Kabylie of Algeria. Therefore, the match-day six fixtures are a chance for both sides to right the wrongs of the past in their respective perspective though Cotonsport are obliged to do without their foreign players as Arnaud Sibiri Sanou suspended after seeing red against JS Kabylie and Kamilou Daouda, Okoumou Jean Rosis and Archange Zo have not been granted visas to Morocco.
