Cotonsport of Garoua defender Dairou Boubakari has warned against complacency in their return game in the 2020-2021 CAF Confederation cup first preliminary round game this Sunday.
Speaking after the Club’s last training session 24 hours before the game the 18-year old in his first full season at the Club dropped some insides about the team’s preparations.
“We are working hard to repeat the performance of the first game. Playing at the Roumde Adja Stadium is an added motivation. We know it will be a tough game but are doing all to ensure we get the result to ensure qualification.
Dairou lasted 90 minutes last weekend as Cotonsport picked up a comfortable two-nil win in Lome which gives the team an edge going into the second leg game.
Dario believes the presence of fans could have a massive impact on the performance of Cotonsport and hopes authorities allow fans to watch their team in the historic fixture.
“We hope our fans will be able to attend the game, we will like to show them what we have been doing. We hope our administrators achieve this,” the former Stade Bertoua stated.
Cotonsport have a two-nil lead from the first-leg encounter recorded last weekend and will be hoping to build on this to secure qualification for the next round of the competition.
Cotonsport vs. Unisport Sokode: December 6th. 15:00 CAT/2:00 GMT. Stade Roumde Adja, Garoua.
But, before we look ahead to this weekend’s game, let’s take a quick trip back to Lome last week when Cotonsport edged Unisport to win three points.
