Cotonsport’s keeper Anye Derick Fru,26, has revealed their Match-Day five game in this season’s CAF Confederation Cup could be decided by their efficiency in the final third.
Anye made the revelation during Saturday’s pre-match conference in Cairo where Cotonsport spend this weekend in search of their first win in this season’s competition.
Coton tailing group C with three points from their first four outings must win to stay in the competition having dropped two points last weekend by conceding an equalizer against TP Mazembe in the last minute of their match-day four game in Garoua.
“We are a young team with many players involved in this competition for the first time,” Anye emphasized before recommending what his mates could explore to better their previous results of three draws and a defeat in four outings.
“We know this is a big game. A game between two good teams. Obviously such occasions usually produce spectacle. Our interest here is to win three points and for that to happen we must take our chances.”
Cotonsport must beat second seeded Al Masry who are unbeaten at home else their ride in this season’s competition will come to an early end.
Therefore the Cotonites who are not bad travelers have a tough task this Sunday afternoon at the Borg El Arab Stadium in Cairo against an Al Masry team also targeting maximum points.
Both sides shared the spoils in the reversed fixture after separating goalless largely because of a glaring displaying if all Anye talked about during the presser- Cotonsport’s youthfulness led to their failure to explore their chances on that faithful February 13 in Garoua thus causing them to drop points.
Skipper Marou Souaibou who has scored four goals in the competition is expected to bring his A game to the fold if the 2021 semi finalist have to keep dreaming of better ride this term.
Anye is in contention to start on goal for Cotonsport after a number of shaky performance from 22-year old Gabin Allabatnan whose all round performance was criticize by a cross section of observers for the late goal conceded against Mazembe in Match-Day four.
