The draw for 2022 TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League draw is slated to hold on September 9, 2022, in Morocco.
The draw will ensure that the eight (8) qualified teams will be in two (2) groups of four (4) teams.
Seven (7) teams have qualified for the tournament with one more team to join them later this month.
ASFAR FC (Morocco), Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies (South Africa), Green Buffaloes (Zambia), Determine Girls (Liberia), Wadi Degla (Egypt), Bayelsa Queens (Nigeria) and Simba Queens (Tanzania) have qualified for the tournament.
They will be joined by the Champions of UNIFFAC (Central Africa) after the conclusion of the Zonal Qualifiers this month.
Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies won the maiden edition last year defeating Hasaacas Ladies FC of Ghana 2-0 in the final.
Four (4) out of the seven (7) qualified teams will be making their first appearance at the tournament this year; Simba Queens, Green Buffaloes, and Determine Girls will be making their debut appearances at the tournament.
ASFAR FC won the bronze medal last year after a 3-1 win against Malabo Kings of Equatorial Guinea in the third place match.
Wadi Degla finished in the third position in Group A behind Hasaacas Ladies FC and Malabo Kings and three points better than bottom-placed AS Mande of Mali.
WAFU-B Zone will produce another debutant at the 2022 tournament as Bayelsa Queens of Nigeria clinched the 2022 Zonal Qualifiers title.
Rivers Angels of Nigeria and Hasaacas Ladies FC of Ghana represented WAFU-B Zone at the 2021 tournament.
