The Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) has confirmed dates for the Zonal Women’s Champions League 2022.
The CECAFA Executive Officer has confirmed that CECAFA CAF Women’s Champions League 2022 will take place from July 28th to August 10th in Arusha, Tanzania.
Auka Gecheo, the CECAFA Executive Officer has said the tournament which will also be qualifiers for the CAF Women’s Champions League 2022 will take place from July 28th to August 10th in Arusha, Tanzania.
The Arusha Abeid Stadium and the Black Rhino Academy, Karatu will host the tournament
Vihiga Queens of Kenya won the 2021 CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers for CAF Women’s Champions League defeating Commercial Bank of Ethiopia 1-2 thanks to Jentrix Shikangwa’s brace.
The team will miss out on the tournament because Kenya is serving a FIFA suspension.
She Corporate FC (Uganda), (Simba Queens Tanzania), Yei Joint Stars (South Sudan), Warrior Queens (Zanzibar), Fofila PF (Burundi), AS Kigali Women’s FC (Rwanda), GRFC (Djibouti), and Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (Ethiopia) will compete in the tournament to qualify for the second edition of the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League in Morocco in October.
