Nigeria Under 23 football team coach, Imama Amapakabo has released the list of twenty one (21) players that will prosecute the forth coming CAF U23 AFCON in Egypt.

The team comprises of the likes of former Under 17 player, Kelechi Nwakali and FSV Mainz 05 player, Taiwo Awoniyi. Imama’s list is made up of three (3) goal keepers, seven (7) defenders, eight (8) midfielders and three (3) forwards.

The 2019 CAF U23 AFCON serves as 2020 Tokyo Olympic men football qualifiers. The tournament will be played from 8-22 November, 2019. The top three (3) in Egypt will represent the continent at the Olympics.

Nigeria is in group B of the tournament alongside Ivory Coast, South Africa and Zambia.

Group A is made up of hosts, Egypt, Mali, Ghana and Cameroon.
