The Confederation of African Football has informed its associations that the draws for its women’s competitions will hold in next week.
The Women’s CAN Morocco 2022, U17 Women’s World Cup 2022 and the CAF zone qualifiers for the U20 Women’s World Cup 2022, will take place on May 10, 2021 in Cairo, in Egypt.
Congo was due to welcome the Women’s CAN competition in 2020 but pulled out in July 2019, leaving the event without a host before its cancellation due to the coronavirus pandemic a year later.
In January, CAF in a meeting with FIFA announced Morocco as the host of the competition in 2022.
The under seventeen world cup had also been cancelled due to the pandemic ravaging the world. A situation which India; the host has been one of the worst hit country.
Consequently, the remaining matches of the under seventeen qualifiers to produce three representatives was cancelled after the cancellation of the world cup by FIFA.
