After the shameful incident at Tunis on Friday in the CAF Champions League final, the CAF president Ahmed Ahmad has called for an emergency meeting that will hold on Tuesday.
The match was stopped at the 62nd minutes after the referee ruled that Wydad Casablanca’s goal will not stand and the Wydad team refused playing further.
The team requested that the VAR be used to judge the right call but the referee couldn’t help as reports have it that the VAR was not functioning.
There is speculation that the meeting will seek to ascertain the reason for such an embarrassing moment in African football and make corrections going forward.
Meanwhile, the Morocco FA held an emergency meeting following the absurd scenes at last night’s CAF Champions League final between Wydad and Esperance.
