CAF have Announced experienced 38 year old Ethiopian referee Bamlak Tessema Weyesa will take charge of the upcoming CAF Super Cup game in Doha-Qatar pitting Esperance De Tunis to Raja Casablanca.
The Super Cup is is the final between club Cup Champions –winner of the elite CAF Champions League and the second-tier Confederation Cup.
Esperance won their third Champions League title beating eight-time champions Al Ahly of Egypt, Whiles Raja defeated Congolese side AS Vita to their second Confederation Cup triumph.Both matches were played over two legs and as a result of the wins for the two North African sides they will clash for another trophy in Qatar.
With the vey high stakes of the game,CAF has opted to go for an experienced referee who became a FIFA referee 10 years ago.
The game expected to take place either on the 29th of March 2019 is the first competitive game organized by CAF to be played out of Africa.
Al Ahly have won a record six titles Esperance and Raja Casablanca battling for this trophy have one Super Cup each and a win for Raja will see them keeping the trophy in Casablanca for the second season in a row after Wydad of the same city won it last year.
