The Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Wednesday launched the CAF Super League.
CAF President after chairing its 44th Ordinary Assembly in Arusha, Tanzania launched the League with FIFA President, Gianni Infantino in attendance.
3.5 million Dollars will be given to the first participating clubs to cater for players’ transfers and transportation with 100 million Dollars in prize money.
11.5 million Dollars out of the 100 million Dollars will be earmarked as the prize money for the winners of the CAF Africa Super League.
The CAF Africa Super League will kick off in August 2023 (August 23 to May 24) with 24 clubs from 16 countries.
According to CAF President, Patrice Motsepe, CAF Africa Super League is one of the most exciting developments in African football.
The League is to enable African club football compete with the best in the world and for African players to maximize their income.
The league also aims to improve the quality of football in Africa.
A sum of 1 million Dollars will also be given to every Member Association of CAF to develop football.
