CAF boss Malagasy born Ahmad Ahmad will in March 2021 seek re-election into the top job of the African football governing body (CAF).
Mr Ahmad since November 19th 2020 has gone through legal battles with world football governing Body (FIFA) after he was banned from all football related activities for 5 years.
On January 29th 2021, while the CAF organized Total CHAN was in full gear, the court of arbitration for sports (CAS) in Lausanne Switzerland overruled the judging chamber of the ethics commission decision of FIFA and reinstated Ahmad as CAF boss.
In a strong worded document addressed to the Secretary General of CAF by the FIFA Commision of Governance on the 5th of February, FIFA acknowledges CAS decision #2020/A/7592 makes Mr Ahmad eligible to seek another mandate as CAF president.
Ahmad is in Cameroon and will personally preside over the final of the ongoing Total CHAN 2020.
