Congolese football administrator, first vice president of CAF and member of the FIFA council, Constant Omari has been designated on interim bases to take over the activities of the African Football governing body after the five years suspension of CAF’s president Ahmad Ahmad by FIFA.
On November 10, 2020, Constant Omari took over temporal leadership of CAF after it’s now suspended president was discharged from hospital after he had tested positive of Covid-19 and prescribed a 20-days convalescence period by medical doctors.
With FIFA’s five years suspension now in place, Ahmad Ahmad can no longer perform his duties as president of CAF.
Barely hours after the suspension, FIFA designated Constant Omari to take over the presidency on interim basis.
Born on January 14, 1958, the Congolese football administrator and member of the FIFA Council was in September 2015 appointed as the chairman of FIFA’s Task Force Against Racism and Discrimination.
