Nkana president,Everisto Kabila says he does not regret wearing a Zesco United replica during the Ndola side’s Confederation Cup play-off first leg against South Africa outfit Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday.
Kabila said he will not apologise to Nkana fans.
Kabila decided to put on the Zesco replica most likely as a response to the campaign of filling up Nkana and Levy Mwanawasa Stadium during the CAF Confederation Cup fixtures regardless of whichever team one supports.
His action angered die-hard Nkana fans because rivalry between the two Copperbelt giants has grown in recent years.
The electric fans at both stadia physically motivated Nkana and Zesco to beat their opponents.
On Saturday, Nkana beat Ivory Coast’s San Pedro 3-0, while Zesco United won 3-1 against Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa the following day.
The reverse fixtures come up this weekend.Zesco United will be in South Africa to confront Kaizer Cheifs while Nkana travel to Ivory Coast to face San Pedro.
