CAF has officially opened the bidding process for the host city and country of the 2021 Total CAF Champions League and Total CAF Confederations Cup finals.
Following the success story of the inaugural once-off match final for Inter-clubs competitions last season, CAF has written to Member Associations informing them about the process and timelines.
The biding closing deadline is set for 26 February 2021 and any Member Associations interested in hosting the decisive match of the continental club competitions are to submit their bidding files highlighting key elements such as Stadia, Training facilities, Accommodation arrangements, Medical and Government guarantees before the deadline.
The finals have been scheduled as follows;
-Total CAF Confederation Cup (10 July 2021)
– Total CAF Champions League (17 July 2021)
CAF will communicate the next stage of the bidding process in due course.
For the first time in the history of the CAF Inter-club competitions, the finals were played in a onceoff match during the 2019/20 season in line with a decision taken by the CAF Executive Committee
The Egyptian capital Cairo hosted the inaugural Total CAF Champions League final which saw Al Ahly beat city rivals Zamalek 2-1 whilst RS Berkane of Morocco defeated Pyramids of Egypt 1-0 in the Total CAF Confederation Cup in Rabat.
