Ahead of their CAF Champions League First Round second leg fixtures against Platinum Stars of South Africa, Simba SC players have been promised about US$105,000 cash gift if they eliminate FC Platinum.
Last season, Simba failed to make it past the preliminary stage after losing on the away goals rule to UD Songo of Mozambique.
They qualified for the second round after a 1-0 aggregate win over Plateau United of Nigeria while Platinum made it to the next round after a 4-1 aggregate win over Costa De Sol of Mozambique, winning the first leg played in Maputo 2-1 before claiming a 2-0 win in the return leg played in Harare.
Despite trailing heading into the second meeting, the Simba Belgian tactician, Sven Vandenbroeck has maintained they did not deserve to lose the first leg battle and that his opponents are not a threat to deny them a chance to progress to the group stage.
The Tanzania champions who lost the first leg 1-0 in South Africa now have not just the group stages ticket to fight for, but also some cash prizes when Platinum visits Tanzania on Wednesday.
