Plateau United lost the first leg of the preliminary round against Simba SC by a lone goal on Sunday at the New Jos Stadium.
After dominating the first phase of the tie, the host were left disappointed by Clatous Chama’s 53rd minutes goal.
The Tin City Boys twice went close in ten seconds as both efforts hit the bar. First it was Dennis Nya who poked his effort and it struck the bar, before Abba Umar reacted to hit the bar again.
However, Chama poked the ball home after Luis Miquissone’s shot was spilled to the path of the striker later in the game.
United pushed the more for an equaliser, but their efforts were abortive.
The return leg of the tie comes up on between 4-6 December, 2021.
