Petro of Luanda have defeated major rivals G D Sagrada Esperanca by three goals to nil in Luanda this Saturday, for group D fixtures of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions league. The quarter-finals matches for group D are left with two games as Wydad and Petro have earned a ticket for the next rounds of the competition.
Petro got into the highly watched Angolan derby, in the sixteen seconds of the game, when captain Tiago Azualo shot the ball home, from inside the box after earning up a cross from Gleison on the right.
They continue dominating the game and had to wait until the last minute of the opening half, when Azulao scored his second goal of the day.
And got the third goal via a penalty spot after a foul inside the box. Erico Castro stepped up an experience net shot to raise score to 3 for Petro.
Wydad have dropped to second after the one nil edge on Zamalek ,with nine points. Third place Zamalek on two points from four games have been eliminated and only play the last two games. Meanwhile Esperanca are bottom of the table with one point collect against Zamalek in a draw.
