The Amakosi are back in the competition for the first time in four years and their first coming to Cameroon will see them confront Cameroon champions PWD.
The Glamour Boys arrived Cameroon this Friday morning- they flew out of South Africa on Thursday– first to Addis Ababa in Ethiopia – and landed in Douala-Cameroon. After that there is another 77km trip to the coastal town of Limbe, Sunday’s match venue.
In what will be the first fixture between both sides at the Omnisport Stadium in Limbe, is the first of a two-legged set of preliminary fixtures, with the second game taking place next week Friday at the FNB Stadium.
Chiefs lost their last game before departure to Cameroon on Tuesday against newly-promoted PSL side Swallow FC. The most successful Club in South Africa can boast of just two wins in eight games this season, scoring just five goals in that time.
They have also failed to win a silverware in the past five years and are hoping their seventh appearance in the CAF Champions league preliminary rounds marks the beginning of a new era in an already difficult season.
