Horoya came from a goal down to win the tie at home against Raja Club, in the group B game of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League at the General Lassana Conte stadium in Conakry this Saturday by two goals to one.And to revenge for the one nil defeat they suffer in Casablanca a week ago.
Horoya kept the pressure and almost had a goal but Mandela Ocansey’s effort from a corner was cleared off the line. They completed their comeback and went into the lead three minutes later until Yakhouba Barry struck a penalty home after a foul inside the box.
Raja mounted more pressure as they sought to get back into the encounter,at the nineteenth minutes when Hamid Ahadad tapped the ball home at the back post for captain Mohsine. But the Guinean champions league plenipotentiary were not willing to let go off the game, as they should have had a third.
Saturday’s win see Horoya pick their first win of the group phase, though they remain at bottom level. They retain on a mental calculation of making it at the quarter-finals levels.
The Moroccan side remain top of the group with nine points and hold their quarter-final destiny in their hands.
