According to Moroccan 🇲🇦 state television Arryadia TV, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation will officially submit a request to CAF for the Champions League final between Wydad Casablanca and Esperance de Tunis to be replayed.
Reports from Morocco had stated that a meeting was held by Wydad Casablanca to discuss how to go about what has been regarded as the unfair treatment on the team after the game.
The team’s president had earlier also threatened to take the matter to the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) if nothing is done about it.
It will be recalled that the CAF champions league final between Esperance of Tunisia and Wydad Casablanca of Morocco had been brought to an abrupt end as the Wydad team protested a goal they felt should have stood after the referee ruled that it was not a goal.
Esperance was pronounce winner as the Tunisian club side was already in the lead with a goal lead and an aggregate of 2-1 as the first league ended one all.
It is left to be seen what the response of the Confederation of African Football will be.
