Ahead of the much talked CAF Confederations Cup tie between ASC Jaraaf of Senegal and Kano Pillars of Nigeria today in Senegal, Kano Pillars Striker Nwagua Nyima has assured Nigerians that the club and himself will give Nigeria a good representation unlike what happened against Asante Kotoko last year.
In an interview, he said,
“We have confidence in ourselves because we’ve worked and prepared towards this journey and now that it has come, it’s just for us to execute what we’ve practiced and by the grace of God, the match will be a favorable one for us. We are waiting for time to tick so that we can do what we’re here for.
“It’s quite unfortunate that last year it didn’t go well with the team, and the moment we qualified for this year’s competition, we put the last year’s experience behind us but in our hearts we’re very sad and wants to correct our mistakes, and we believe we’re going to correct our mistakes by going pass this stage.
“Talking about ASC Jaraaf, they’re a big team but we’re not a small team. Right now we’re not underrating anybody. We prefer people calling them a big team while we do our own business as an underdog here and leave Dakar Victorious.
“We’re asking the whole Nigerians to pray for us, stand by us and we will not let them down because we know it’s not just about Kano Pillars anymore but about Nigerians and we are going to represent Nigeria very well this year by the grace of God.”
