Nigeria’s sole representative at this season CAF Confederations Cup, Rangers International suffered a 2-1 loss away to AS Pelican of Gabon.

The three (3) goals were scored in the first half of the game. AS Pelican raced to a 2-0 lead before Nnamdi Egbujuo scored an away goal for the Enugu based club.

After the elimination of Niger Tornadoes by Santoba FC in the last qualifying round, Rangers will hope to over turn the one goal deficit in the return leg to keep Nigeria’s hope alive in the second tier CAF club competition with a previous away goal.

The Second leg of the tie comes up on 29th September, 2019 at ‘The Cathedral’, Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium, Enugu.
