Ahead of their trip to Dakar, Senegal for the all important CAF Confederation cup preliminary first leg clash with AFC Jaraaf, players and officials of the four-time Nigeria Professional Football League champions, Kano Pillars FC, have undergone a covid-19 mandatory tests.
According to a team official, all the players, technical crew and delegation to Dakar for the first leg decider of the CAF Confederation cup with ASC Jaraaf of Senegal must undergo the mandatory covid-19 tests.
He said the tests is mandatory inline with the covid-19 preventive protocols as well as to fulfill all the requirements of the NCDC, Nigeria Football Federation, Confederation of African Football, CAF and Federation of International Football Association, FIFA.
“We are law abiding citizens and we are always ready to follow all the due process before we depart for Senegal, Malikawa said.
He then explained that plans have reached an advanced stage by the Kano state Government to make sure the team has a hitch free journey to Senegal.
The seasoned journalist pointed out that both the players and technical crew of the club are working round the clock to ensure that all the weaknesses identified during the warp up matches are improved significantly for a better outing.
In a related development, Kano Pillars FC officials, management of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna state Football Association executives and the Nigeria Football Federation’s inspection team have met at the Ahmadu Bello stadium, were the club will play its home matches in the CAF Confederation cup 2020/21 season.
During the meeting, some observations have been made by the NFF inspection committee and the club promised to make sure everything goes according to plan.
The first leg of the encounter between the host and the Pride of Kano will be played on Saturday, 28th November 2020 with a return leg in Nigeria to be decided in a forthnight.
