Pyramid FC of Egypt got their third consecutive win in the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup after a lone goal by Ahly Gabr earned them the victory on Sunday.
After winning their first two games against Zanaco and Al Ahli, the day’s contest looked like their perfect record was about to come to an end against CS Sfaxien until Gabr’s header ensured otherwise with his goal at the dead of added time.
Abdullah Al-saeed and Ibrahim Adel of Pyramid were a pain in the neck of Sfaxien, but they remained resolute to dissipate every attack at them throughout the game.
However, a second of lack of concentration left the away team regretting as Gabr Scored the winner and keep Pyramid on top with nine points while CSfaxien are third with three points.
In the other group match, Ah Ahli of Libya made their second position stronger by beating Zanaco of Zambia by two goals to nil.
The Tripoli side made it three consecutive loses for Zanaco as they get their second win and six points of the group stage campaign.
The goals came at the latter part of the game with Ahmed Eltribi scoring in the 79th minutes of the game before Mohamed Abdussalam’s icing on the cake in the 85th minutes.
