Nigeria’s sole representative at the 2020/2021 CAF Confederation Cup, Enyimba International Football Club of Aba suffered another away defeat as Pyramids of Egypt came from behind to earn a 4-1 win over the People’s Elephant in the quarter-final first-leg tie on Sunday.
Victor Mbaoma gave Enyimba an early lead immediately after kick-off.
Ramadan Sobhi equalised for the host in the 15th minute to end the first half at 1-1.
After the interval, Pyramids scored three goals to give Enyimba a daunting task ahead of the return leg in Aba.
Goals from Abdallah Bekhit and a brace from Ibrahim Abdel compounded Enyimba’s continental away woes.
Enyimba will now have to defeat Pyramids by three un-replied goals in the return leg on May 23, 2021, if they are to have any chance of making it to the semi-final.
