Enyimba International Football Club of Nigeria has qualified for the next round (quarter final) of the 2020/2021 CAF Confederation Cup after their last gasp 1-0 win over Orlando Pirates of South Africa at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba, on Wednesday.
The game which was played under the floodlight saw Enyimba waiting till the additional minutes of the second half to score the winning goal as they survived the scare of being eliminated from the competition.
Cyril Olisema scored the all-important goal for the People’s Elephant in the 95th minute off Anayo Iwuala’s assist.
The result as well as ES Setif’s (Algeria) 1-0 win over Al-Ahly Benghazi (Libya) ensured that Fatai Osho tutored Enyimba finished at the top of Group A with nine points from six games, the same points with Orlando Pirates.
ES Setif and Al-Ahly Benghazi missed out on qualification.
