Cotonsport of Garoua will have to make do without central defensive duo Aurelien François Matanda Ngombe Etame and Goni Ali when they face CAF Confederation cup holders Renaissance Sportif of Berkane this Wednesday in their second group game 9f this season’s competition.
Both central defenders are suspended for the game following events of their previous outings for the Club.
Ali who saw red in the last quarter of Cotonsport’s one-nil defeat last weekend against JS Kabylie in Alger serves the first of a two games ban while Etame sits out his one game suspension for accumulated bookings from the previous games in the competition.
Coach Souleymanou Aboubakar will have to turn to Banga Solomon Charles Bidjeme who is also returning from a suspension and likely Cameroon international awaiting debut Herve Ngomo who started the last game on the bench.
Teenage sensation Eric Moursou is another option for the Cotonites. Though at 16, with just two appearances in the competition, it is unlikely the lad be handed a starter role in such a pressure cooker.
Cotonsport hopes to restart their competition with a first win at the Roumde Adja Stadium on Wednesday afternoon when they welcome RS Berkane for the first time in the historic ground.
The 2013 semi-finalist who currently occupy the third spot in the group have won two of their previous three home games.
