Cotonsport players and staff have this morning jet off for Gaborone in Botswana ahead of their second preliminary round CAF Confederation Cup game against home side Orapa United FC.
18 players plus de entire technical staff left the Nsimalen Airport in Yaounde-Cameroon this afternoon via an Ethiopia Airways flight and are expected to arrive Botswana on Thursday.
The team will pass this Wednesday night in Transit at Addis Ababa before continuing the journey on Thursday morning.
Kamilou Daouda and mates are expected to touchdown the soils of Botswana just after midday on Thursday and move to their base.
The team will train on Thursday and Friday, hold a pre-match conference and other activities before Saturday’s game.
Cotonsport who were exempted from the first preliminary rounds of the competition will challenge the host who conquered Mangasport of Gabon in the previous round.
It is the first meeting of both sides in any competition but promises to be an exciting fixture.
Cotonsport reached the semi-final of the CAF Confederation Cup last term for the third time in history, but there’s a feel around the playing staff of the club that this term could be the season Francis Tombi Alemi, Anye Derick and his colleagues finally break the trophy drought in the Continental scene especially as they have added quality.
